During our maths lesson, we learnt the names of the instruments. We used the instruments in Challenge time to count the number of beats we were playing. Noisy but fun!

Accompanying songs with musical instruments
We have learnt a new song this week called ‘Find a little seed’ and decided it would be really nice to sing this in our groups whilst accompanying it with musical instruments. We practised handling instruments, playing a steady beat and all playing at the same time. This was extremely noisy…but that was the best part about it!!
Instrumental house sounds
We enjoyed selecting musical instruments to recreate the sounds associated with building and being being in houses.
We also chose instruments to accompany our brick on a brick song. We tried to keep a steady beat whole we listened to song. Some instruments were easier to use while keeping the beat than others were.
Dail yn Dawnsio
We have been reading a book about leaves dancing in the wind in Welsh. We have collected leaves of different colours, shapes and sizes. We found dail oren, dail melyn, dail brown a dail gwyrdd. We sorted our leaves into groups based on their colours and then chose a selection of leaves to make rubbings from. We labelled our rubbings in Welsh.
We used the instruments to create the sound of the wind blowing and the leaves floating and twirling as they danced in the wind. We even pretended to be leaves dancing in the wind as we listened to the musical accompaniment.
